My year with Mileus

he end of 2019 is approaching and with it, the appreciation of the whole year. I must say that the 2019 meant a new flow of energy for me.

In late 2017 I made a difficult decision to relieve myself from the CEO role at Liftago and remove myself from Liftago’s day-to-day operations throughout 2018. Today I am glad Ondrej Krátký accepted the challenge. Ondrej proved to be the best choice for my successor and also the right person to successfully taking growth of Liftago to the next level.

In late 2018 I decided that I would not be happy enough with consulting activities, mentoring startups and investing. Those activities, although interesting and fulfilling, did not create high enough value and I felt I was leaving a lot of my potential and builder’s desire unused. Especially at times when urban transportation is undertaking a big transformative shift with all the challenges that a digital disruption brings with it.

It took a couple of iterations analyzing and validating ideas and by the end of 2018, I knew it was time to get my feet wet again. Mileus idea and concept got to the stage where I was ready to start building the team and product around it. You can’t keep getting prepared forever. Afterall, the work will teach you how to do it.

So, 2019 started as a year of prototyping, validating the business model and building a team.

Every founder knows that the beginnings, although not an easy feat, are nothing compared to difficulties and setbacks that await every startup on its journey. At the same time, creating something new and valuable, something that will make an impact is energizing and very fascinating. That’s the joy and reason we keep building, experimenting, failing, succeeding and most importantly, learning along the way. Well, at least, I enjoyed all of that so far in 2019.

I want to thank all of you who helped Mileus to become what it is and who will help in forming what Mileus will become.

We have a long way to maturity. There is a lot to look forward to. In 2020, we will finish our MVP (Minimum Viable Product) and launch our first pilot projects in a couple of European cities. We will expand our network of contacts, broaden our reach and impact, build new partnerships. We plan on heading to North America and Asia to learn how our ideas and products resonate overseas.

We will expand our network of contacts, broaden our reach and impact, build new partnerships.

Building a new thing that hasn’t been done before, that’s a road that is never easy. Making cities cleaner and more liveable by reducing road congestion while increasing comfort of transportation — that’s a destination that we believe is worth the trouble.

We are growing. Gaining new energy.

And, as always, whatever you do, do not compromise on your personal integrity and your value system. If you have no friends, whom will you share your tears from being down from time to time and your happiness from those successes with?
